From Calgary, take the Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Highway 2) south to High River. Take the turn off to Blackie/Vulcan. You will then be travelling east on secondary Highway 23. Keep travelling east approximately 5 km until you see a little green sign that says 530 Ave. Please turn right onto that road and follow it until you reach the Ducks Unlimited Canada main gate for Basin 1. Turn right again and travel down about 700m at the first parking lot for the outflow/islands. Continue further about another 100m for the parking roundabout for the duck blind and board walk.
From September to March, the main gate is locked. On the right side of the gate is a path gate, which you can access on foot. There is plenty of parking space outside the gate entrance during these times.
