St. Patrick’s Island (West end)
On the island it is common to see Downy Woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, Norther Flickers, Bald Eagles, winter waterfowl, and surprise visitors. Although most of the trails are free of ice, the trail beside the Bow can be very icy, so please bring spikes for your shoes. The icy section can be bypassed and the rest of the trails are suitable for all physical abilities. All walks will start and end at the parking lot located directly north of 656 Confluence Way SE on the RiverWalk pathway. There are clean city bathrooms just South of the parking lot. Parking is done from an app, so please download the app from home as the cell coverage can be sketchy in that location. Please dress for the cold!
