Christmas Bird Count 4 Kids

December 17, 2022

Date: December 17, 2022
Time: 2 Sessions 9:30am – 10:30am & 11:00am – Noon
Where: Carburn Park
Cost: Free Event

Inspired by the Christmas Bird Count, the CBC4Kids is a way to engage the next generation of birders. Come let your child explore the winter birds of Carburn Park. Children will learn about Chickadees, Nuthatches, Woodpeckers, Ducks, Bald Eagles, and many more! We’ll talk about main ways to identify them by sight and sound and some of the ways they survive the winter!

Each child will be able to borrow our binoculars so that they can see the birds up close. We will also bring out a birding scope to watch the birds on the river safely.

There are 2 sessions. The early session runs from 9:30-10:30 am. The late session runs from 11:00 am – Noon.

Age: 10-14. Please note that we limit the age of the participants to ensure that they are able to focus to be able to use the binoculars and keep up with the group.

Walk Length: This walk will be approximately 1 hour in length. We will be staying on the main pathways to ensure the safety of our young naturalists!

Our guide has a police check and CPR certification.
