Nature Calgary needs your skills!

The Board of Nature Calgary is understaffed at present, and is just able to maintain the basic functions of the society. Additional directors would help us address ongoing functions, and new ventures in the areas of citizen science, grants and fundraising, advocacy, or youth groups.

As you know, Nature Calgary is only able to function due to the efforts and dedication of those members who volunteer their time and knowledge. In order to pursue current and new activities requested by the members, and to maintain a healthy turnover of directors, we are strongly encouraging the membership to put forward names for nomination at the AGM this year.

We have a particular need for people to share the work of producing the newsletter and/or doing website updates. Use your creative flair and learn new skills! If you’d like more information about joining this team, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Ian Ross (volunteers@naturecalgary.com ) or Linda Vaxvick (webmaster@naturecalgary.com). Familiarity with, and access to, Microsoft Word is a requirement for newsletter work.  Experience with WordPress, Mail Chimp, or Facebook would be an asset for the webmaster team, but we can provide training.

The AGM will be held on December 17 to elect a new executive. If you are interested in participating as a director of our very worthwhile organization, or lending a supportive hand with specific tasks in support of executive positions, please contact Andrew Hart, Nature Calgary President (president@naturecalgary.com). See the Board page  and Get Involved page for positions and descriptions. You may put your name forward as a “Director at large” or consider a Board position for which we have no nominees at this time.
