Hello Alberta Bird Counters. We are pleased to announce that the 2024 Brooks and Writing-on-Stone Bird Counts will take place on the following dates:
- Brooks-Lake Newell Bird Count: Sat. May 18 and Sun. May 19
* 25th anniversary of the Brooks Count! Come celebrate with us! - Writing-on-Stone Bird Count: Sat. May 25 and Sun. May 26
If you plan on camping we highly recommend booking early!
General campground reservations: public reservations for both the Tillebrook and Writing-On-Stone weekends will open on Monday February 26 at 9 am. Alberta Parks has moved to a new reservation system shop.albertaparks.ca. You must set-up your account in advance. Or you can call Alberta Parks at 1-877-537-2757.
Note: a small non-refundable fee of $12 per person will be charged to all Brooks participants to help cover the rental of the meeting room.
Please indicate interest in participating to Debra Hornsby in advance of count registration. Registration forms for the counts will be emailed by March 15. The 2024 count brochure provides further information, and a draft count schedule.
