Starting in September 2013, Nature Calgary’s speaker series meetings will have a new venue, as Fort Calgary will be undergoing renovations. The Board, after an extensive study including a member survey, intends to use Cardel Theatre, in the Southeast area Quarry Park, for at least four monthly meetings. This fabulous new theatre-style hall has been made available to non-profit organizations at very low cost by Cardel Foundations. The address is 180 Quarry Park Blvd SE, a short distance south of Carburn Park. See the Cardel Theatre website. (Do not confuse Cardel Theatre with Cardel Place, a recreation centre in the north part of Calgary).
The Board was encouraged to find that the top four criteria from the member survey mirrored their thoughts, but no single facility of the 20 examined met all of the top criteria. Thank you to the many members who participated in the survey, and to Sue Konopnicki and Lynne Colborne who did the study of all the halls.
