SUMMARY:New Location - Common Mosses and Liverworts
DESCRIPTION:The outing on August 10 for Common Mosses and Liverworts of Calgary with Sandra Davis has been moved to the Douglas Fir Sanctuary in the Wood’s Home area of Bowness. Sandra checked out the planned area in Griffith Woods and decided to change the location. To get to the site\, follow Bowness Road\, turn left at 48 Avenue NW\, continue ahead for a couple of blocks until you reach the Wood’s Home gate. We will park and meet near the gate and access the park from above. You may want to bring hiking poles as the trail down is fairly steep and we have to climb over a recently downed tree. \nPlease register with Sandra at: Rockhill29*@*shaw.ca or 403-862-8984

DESCRIPTION:Common Mosses and Liverworts of Calgary. Weaselhead Natural Area. If you know the trees and flowers\, it’s time to learn the common bryophytes (Mosses and Liverworts) of our area. This outing will be presented by Sandra Davis\, a local Bryologist. The course will run 3-4 hours. Participants would need to bring a 10X hand lens\, and there would be a 10-person limit. \nMeet in the parking lot on the West side of 37 St at 66 Av SW. To get there\, take Crowchild Trail south into Lakeview turning right onto 66 Ave SW & drive west to 37 St into parking area. \nPlease register with Sandra at: Rockhill29@shaw.ca or (403) 862-8984. \nA follow-up course will also be offered on August 10th at Griffith Woods.
