BSG Meeting – May 2021
May 5 @ 7:30 pm
A Peru Adventure
Speaker: Anne Belton
In October 2019 a group from Calgary went on a birding adventure in Peru. Starting at high elevation, birds such as the Andean Condor were seen. We then travelled to mid elevations for birds such as the Cock of the Rock. The last week of the trip was spent on the Rio Madre de Dios, a tributary of the Amazon. Staying at a lodge deep in the jungle, we travelled by boat to many spots for a huge variety of birds and had a good view of the Giant Otter. Back in Lima, we had a final day along the coast, a wild boat trip into the ocean and a walk along a beach where we saw thousands of Franklin’s Gulls along with more interesting things!
Meeting opens at 7:15pm
