DESCRIPTION:Something fishy’s going on! Seafood mislabeling in Calgary and its implications for conservation\nAbstract \nCalgarians consume a lot of seafood\, but what you bought may not always be what you got. Seafood mislabeling has been detected in cities worldwide. Here we explore a multi-year dataset collected by undergraduate biology students\, comparing product names to their DNA-based identifications. The results include some surprises that may impact the flourishing of both us and the fishes. \n  \nAbout the Author \nMatthew Morris has a PhD in evolutionary biology from the University of Calgary. His research explores the evolution of three spine stickleback\, as well as the intersection of conservation and naming practices.
