SUMMARY:North Glenmore
DESCRIPTION:This is a wonderful Field Trip. We start at Parking Lot C at 9:00am and follow the reservoir for the first bit before heading away from the shore. Because of the combined reservoir\, wetland\, plus spruce trees we see quite a variety of birds and mammals; all year long. The trip is suitable for most abilities\, but not for wheelchairs or walkers. We are off the paved bike path for most of the trip. There are lots of benches to take a rest. There are port-a-potties on most of the parking lots and heated bathrooms at the north-east corner of the park. Last Saturday of each month at North Glenmore Park. Generally a two hour field trip at a comfortable pace. Register with leader: Penny Smith (403 807-8137).

SUMMARY:Creekside Shopping Centre: Wetlands
DESCRIPTION:The Creekside Shopping Centre management (Choice Properties) has invited Nature Calgary to lead field trips from their location. This is a fairly new birding area with a nice wetlands just north of the mall.  We will start and end at the Community Patio. The patio is tucked between the Joso’s Play & Learn Centre and the Chatters Hair Salon\, about the middle of the south-east part on the north side. The wetlands offers a variety of birds and mammals. At this time of year the birding is good because the birds are migrating and arriving in Calgary. We will start at 10:30 am for a 90 minute trip. Our leader (Bernie Diebolt) is quite familiar with the area. Please register in advance with the field trip leader.
