SUMMARY:Driving Trip: East of Calgary
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 22; 9:30 A.M.;  west parking lot at the Deerfoot City Mall.  We go east of Calgary in search of migrating shore and wading birds and others. Will be visiting wetlands in the Chestermere\, Langdon\, and\, Shepard areas. This will include a stop at Weed Lake. Halfway break in the town of Langdon. SUMMARY:North Glenmore
DESCRIPTION:This is a wonderful Field Trip. We start at Parking Lot C at 9:00am and follow the reservoir for the first bit before heading away from the shore. Because of the combined reservoir\, wetland\, plus spruce trees we see quite a variety of birds and mammals; all year long. The trip is suitable for most abilities\, but not for wheelchairs or walkers. We are off the paved bike path for most of the trip. There are lots of benches to take a rest. There are port-a-potties on most of the parking lots and heated bathrooms at the north-east corner of the park. Last Saturday of each month at North Glenmore Park. Generally a two hour field trip at a comfortable pace. Register with leader: Penny Smith (403 807-8137).
